Family Immigration

  1. First Preference: Unmarried, adult sons and daughters of U.S. citizens. Adult means 21 years of age or older.
  2. Second Preference: Spouses of lawful permanent residents, their unmarried children (under twenty-one), and the unmarried sons and daughters of lawful permanent residents.
  3. Third Preference: Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens.
  4. Fourth Preference: Brothers and sisters of adult U.S. citizens.
  1. A copy of your birth certificate
  2. Naturalization certificate
  3. Unexpired U.S. passport
  4. Front and back of your permanent resident card.
  5. Marriage certificate
  6. Copies of documents showing that all prior marriages were legally terminated
  7. Documentation showing joint ownership or property;
  8. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence
  9. Documentation showing co-mingling of financial resources
  10. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, the petitioner, and your spouse together
